USPS Postcard size regulations


You may think that your mailpiece is a "postcard," because it is a single sheet of paper. But to qualify for mailing at the First-Class Mail postcard price, it must be:
  • Rectangular
  • At least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick
  • No more than 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long x 0.016 inches thick


1) Pick a site you want to get your cards printed at
2) Pick a size you want to print your cards *see above
3) You need an image that is at least 240 dpi at the size you choose.
4) Simple Photoshop
4a) File --> New

4b) File --> Open --> find your image
4c) Using the 'Move' tool drag your image onto your showcard template
4d) Image --> Transform --> Scale = * Resize your image for the card if necessary


4e) If you need to add text, use the 'Text' tool
4f) Save As --> .PSD (this is your main file. you will need it to make changes)


4f) Layer --> Flatten Image
4g) Save As --> (file type the website your printing from wants. usually a JPG)
