In class Day 1

Welcome to Art411 Art Theory & Practice.

What is "art"? Who is an artist? What does an artist do?

This class is for senior studio art students who have successfully passed the Junior Review. The goal of this class is to answer the question "What do I do with an art degree once I graduate from college". It is an interactive seminar where you are expected to ask questions and research answers.

Our semester involves:

As a student who is about to graduate from art school, what questions do you have about making art and working as an artist after college?
* Make a list of 10 things you want the class to cover.
What do you expect to do during your first year after college?
* Write down your goals as an artist during your first year out of college. Be honest.
* What job would you like to have? How do you want to make money?
What Questions do you have about the Senior Show?
- The purpose of the show.
- Making a plan (it can change)
